👋

Hi, I'm Simen, a passionate Software Developer based in Oslo, Norway. I enjoy making applications and building systems that help businesses run more efficiently.
Focus: React/TypeScript - Learning: C#/.NET

About me

After dedicating several years to the maritime industry, I underwent a significant career shift. Although my interest in computers and tech has been present since my early years, it wasn't until the pandemic that I truly delved into programming. About a year ago, I was accepted to an intensive Software Development bootcamp in JavaScript through Academic Work.

Throughout my career, I have predominantly been on the operational side of things. What really drew me to Software Development was the opportunity to work more project-based and to work on solutions that affect users and employees directly. Professionally, given the evolving labour market, I figured that acquiring and applying skills like programming is imperative, considering the inevitable automation of many existing jobs. Personally, programming has been a fantastic way for me to grow and keep my brain in check.

While I have mainly been focusing on React & TypeScript, I am eager to learn new technologies and currently looking for a full-stack position to continue expanding my skills. If you want to know more about my past projects, feel free to explore, and don't hesitate to get in touch. Outside of coding, I enjoy learning languages, reading, crossFit, staying updated on things in tech, and going on weekend trips.
